Limbo Notes
Various techniques (handwriting on used home textile, embroidery, printed text interventions in the public space), 2024
In this ongoing series I share my thoughts and reflections on being a displaced person / a migrant / a refugee, about this state in-between, when the ties I have with my home in Ukraine seem to be almost broken, and while I still can’t fully perceive my connection to Austria, where I moved because of the russian full-scale invasion, as something permanent.
About all those who have been silenced, ignored, denied for so long, but whose subtle presence shaped this world and whose uprising is inevitable. About every ignored, silenced, «secondary», devalued soul, without whom actually those who consider themselves prominent, loud, «primary» and valuable lose any sense of their existence.
If you turn me into a ghost – be ready that I will haunt you forever, and no exorcist will help you get rid of me.
«No matter how long I’ve been staying in this country – I am forever just someone who has once arrived here»

«No matter how soon will I come back home – I will always remain the one who once left it»
