Defective pixels
Performative intervention, 2018
Defective pixels – is an image defect, which happen in matrix digital devices (computer monitors, screens of smartphones) due to physical damage or factory fault.
«Defective pixel» (of three primary colors – red, green and blue – according to the RGB color model) in the form of a material object is inserted into the space of the real landscape. Despite its physical embodiment, the pixel as a sign and image still belongs to the digital, virtual world. Thus, the reality of the world around us is questioned.
