Natural

Intervention, photo, 2020

The word «natural» refers both to something connected with nature, on the one hand, and to overall «normality» of objects, beings, processes or phenomena, their inherent properties, on the other hand.

In this series I ironically play with this concept and the perception of plastic as something opposite to the idea of being «natural». Here plastic is embedded into the landscape, striving to imitate its properties. Being emphasised, it seems alien, «un-natural» – but at the same time points at the fact that plastic has been already for a long time an integral part of the landscape and is becoming no less «natural» in it than leaves, water and soil.
